W. R. Hartin, Jr., passed away February 7, 2016, at home after an extended illness. He was born March 14, 1930, in Montgomery, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. R. Hartin, Sr. and Gussie Summerlin Hartin.

Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Cox Hartin (married June 19, 1953), and his sons, W. R. "Robert" Hartin III (Sarah) and Vann Hartin. 

Robert graduated from Lanier High School in 1948, Huntingdon College in 1952, and Auburn University in 1953. He retired from the State Department of Industrial Relations Unemployment Compensation Division after 30 years of service.

Robert was devoted to his family and church and lived his faith. His life was made more comfortable by the help from his aide, Wilma Brooks (for 7 years) and by Mary Bellamy.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church Chapel at 3:00PM. Visitation will be in the church parlor at 2:00PM. A private burial will be at a later date.
