Irving I. Bern, Dmd (1930-2013) - Class Of 1948

Dr. Irving I. Bern, age 83, resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 25, 2013 at 10 am graveside at Greenwood Cemetary with Rabbi Scott Kramer officiating.

Dr. Bern was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Bern and Lillian Perlman.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Bern, children, Dr. Jeffrey (Carolyn) Bern, Shelley (Richard) Diamond, grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica) Bern, Anna Bern, Spencer Diamond, Jill Diamond, and great-grandson Ethan.

Dr. Bern attended Lanier High School in Montgomery, the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he achieved early admission to dental school at the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry.

He served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas. He entered private practice in Montgomery, AL in 1957 and continued to practice until his retirement.

Family will receive friends Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Bern after the funeral.
