Henry Steven Adair, Jr. , Dvm (1926-2005) - Class Of 1944

ADAIR, Henry Steven Jr., 78, of Montgomery, AL., passed away at his home in Snowdoun, AL on Friday, April 29, 2005. He was the son of the late Henry S. and Lucille Adair. Dr. Adair was a veteran of WWII where he served as a navel corpsman. Dr. Adair was a graduate of the University of Alabama and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Adair was the owner of Adair Veterinary Clinic in Montgomery where he cared for countless animals for over 50 years. His family and friends will miss "Doc". He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Maxine Farris Adair; his children Dr. Henry Steven Adair, III (Stacey) of Maryville, TN, Farris Ann Jones (Randy) of Montgomery, Thomas Randolph Adair of Montgomery, Robert Brice Adair (Nikki) of Montgomery; his sister Joan Adair Johnston (Bill) of Fairfax, VA, and grandchildren, Kelley Creswell, Chaney Adair and Shawn Holland; as well as several nieces and nephew. Services will be held Monday, May 2, 2005 at 10 AM at Leak Memorial Chapel. The Reverends Roy Sublette and Larry Davidson will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2005 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dr. Henry S. Adair, III, Thomas Randolph Adair, Robert Brice Adair, Randy Jones, Dr. Winston Pirtle and Jimmy Varner. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Harry Allen, Dr. Mac Porter and members of the Central Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations are sent in “Doc’s” memory to the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association Foundation, P.O.
