Brigadier General William Rufus Turnipseed, Jr., Retired Born April 4, 1929.  Died July 22, 2016 at home.

Proceeded in death by Nicki Turnipseed and Janice Watson Turnipseed. Survived by his wife Lexie Whitlock Turnipseed. Daughters Terry (Keith) Gardner of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, Tracy (Jim) Roberts of Spanish Fort, AL, Mimi (Dirk Forrester) Turnipseed of Boulder, CO, Jane (Peyton) Thomas of Dothan, AL and stepson Sgt/Major Merritt Pound, III of Lake Martin. Twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
