Glenn Allen Lassiter - Class Of 1947

Glenn Allen Lassiter, born September 1929, died peacefully at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home on Monday, December 22 2014, in Alexander City, Alabama.

A native of Hope Hull, Alabama, Mr. Lassiter was a son of the late Frank and Annie Merle Lassiter.

He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and founded Lassiter Construction Company, where he enjoyed building lakes and roads throughout Alabama for more than 50 years. Glenn was a member of the Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eddie Jo Newell Lassiter and their seven children, Glenn Allen, Jr. (Kathy) Lassiter, Montgomery, AL, William Durward (Susan) Lassiter, Fountain Inn, SC, Catherine Merle (Jeff) Hendrick, Atlanta, GA, Deborah Ann (Bill) Chiles, Hoover, AL, Emily Jo (Brian) Spear, Lowndesboro, AL, Franklin Dale (Meredith) Lassiter, Heiskell, TN, Gina Michelle (Robert) Mangum, Anniston, AL; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and sister, Virginia Davis, Hope Hull, AL.

Glenn was one of nine children, including the late: John Brady Lassiter Jr., Myrtle Dubberly, Jack Lassiter, Miriam Williams, Clarence Lassiter, Joe Frank Lassiter, and Felix Lassiter.

Graveside services will be Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Vaughn Park Church of Christ.
