Carolyn B. Goodwin (Lorenzo) (1929-2011) - Class Of 1947

IN LOVING MEMORY OF CAROLYN GOODWIN LORENZO, born September 2, 1929 in Americus, Georgia, passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 1:45 P.M. at her daughter's home in Montgomery, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents, Winslow Copley (Cope) Goodwin, Elender Bragg Goodwin, and her brother, Dr. Winslow Copley Goodwin, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Elender Goodwin; daughter, Linda Stringer Richardson; son, Frank B. Stringer, Jr. (Sandy); son-in-law, James V. Richardson, M.D.; daughter-in-law, Leslie N. Stringer; all of Montgomery; six grandchildren; Ashley Brantley Moellinger (Dr. Justin); Baley Brantley Boyd (David); William Patrick Richardson (Pat); Morgan Stringer; William M. Richardson, IV. (Will) and Frank B. Stringer, III. (Bishop). Three great-grandchildren; Maddox Trumbly, Parker Moellinger, and Brantley Kate Moellinger. Carolyn graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1947 then went on to college at Lake Forest University in Lake Forest, Illinois. She married the late Mr. Frank Bishop Stringer, Sr. in 1950. She worked at Regions Bank where she retired after 40 years as a Trust Officer. She was a huge Auburn fan and an avid golfer, 24/7, and had 3 holes-in-one, the second one when she was 71/2 months pregnant with Sandy. She played golf until she became ill at the age of 79. Her passions were God, family, Auburn and Golf, in that order. We would like to thank her caregiver, Dollie Robinson, who has been a life-saver to the whole family, and to Southeast Hospice for their tender love and care. We appreciate and love you for it. Funeral services will be held at Leak-Memory Chapel on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. with visitation two hours prior to the service which will be officiated by Dr. Tim Meadows, Pastor of Woodland United Methodist Church, and Assistant Minister, Teresa Jane Seevers. Pallbearers will be David Boyd, Justin Moellinger, Pat Richardson, Will Richardson, Randy Smith, Clark Dunn, Buddy Goodwin and Donnie Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Bell Center, c/o Linda Stringer Richardson, 8497 Rockbridge Circle, Montgomery, Alabama 36116, in honor of Brantley Kate Moellinger. Thank you for all the love, wisdom, support and compassion that you have passed down to us. Until we meet again, we love you and we know there is golf in Heaven. WAR EAGLE!
