Claude Milton Cone (1929-2017) - Class Of 1947

Claude Milton Cone, 88, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017, at his residence in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was born September 7, 1929, and lived in Montgomery, Alabama most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wice C. and Florence Cone, by his first wife, Dorothy and his second wife, Evelyn, by his brother Earl Cone, and by his sister Loretta McKibbon.

Claude worked as a Research Supervisor for the Alabama Highway Department for 44 years. He was an avid Alabama fan and had a unique "garden variety" personality. He never met a stranger and was known as a generous man who loved his family deeply.

Claude is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Catherine J. Cone of Sylacauga, Alabama and by stepchildren; Patricia Watson of Marion, IL, Robert J. Watson (Lou Ann) of Sylacauga and Clayton Lee Watson (Connie) of Crestview, FL. Claude is also survived by nephews Carl McKibbon, Butch McKibbon and nieces Carolyn Courson and Nancy Williams and by many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.The family would like to express thanks to Lendy Kelly of All About You Home Health for the special care given to Claude.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2017, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Leak Memory Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Leak Memory Funeral Home.
