WHIDDON, James Gerald, JR., 79, a life long resident of Mont­gomery, AL passed away peacefully at home on Januar­y 29, 2007.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Janu­ary 31, 2007 at 2:00 PM at The Church of The Ascension.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  He graduated from Sidney Lan­ier High School, attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Huntington College. Mr. Whiddon served in the USAF-FEAF during the Ko­rean War. He was the president and owner of J.G. Whiddon Tile Company. He is survived by his wife, Louise Winkler Whiddon, daughters Gail W. Kidd (Brant), Mountain Brook, AL, Shannon W. Johnson (Steve) Atlanta, GA, son James Gerald Whiddon, III Atlanta, GA, Betty Thornbury, nephew Robert P. Weiss (Gloria), grand­children Louise and Melissa Kidd, Tommy and Laura John­son. Memorials may be made to The Church of the Ascension or to one's favorite charity.  Leak-Memory Chapel Directing.
