Ethel Teague Watson (Barnes) (1927-2015) - Class Of 1945

Ethel Teague Watson Barnes died on January 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harry McGwinn (Buddy) Barnes, Jr., her parents Isabel Beasley Watson and Herbert Wyatt Preston Watson and her brother, Commander Wyatt Preston "Petie" Watson.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by her son, Dr. Harry McGwinn (Mac) Barnes, III (Terri); daughters, Isabel Barnes Barnes (Frank), and Ethel Watson Barnes all of Montgomery, Alabama.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, William Frank Barnes, III, Harry McGwinn Barnes, IV, Martin Christopher Barnes (Lauren), Isabel Watson Barnes, Preston Scott Barnes and her great grandson, Andrew Martin Barnes.

She is survived by her brother, Bob Watson (Patsy) of Pell City, Alabama, her sister-in-law, Ann Watson, of Ramona, California; nephews, Bob Watson, Earl Watson, Lee An (Megan), John Rea (Sonja) and her niece, Jennifer Moses (Shea).

Ethel was a life-long resident of Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church. Ethel was a past president of the Junior League of Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 followed by a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 at First United Methodist Church in Fellowship Hall.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, nephews, Reese Bricken and Forrest McConnell, Sr.
