WHITMAN, Helen Elizabeth Sanford, age 82, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband: Willie L. Whit­man, Jr. (Ret Brig Gen, USAF); father: John Buford Sanford; mother: Ira Pearl Andrews Sanford. Survivors include her daughters, Sue Whitman Wood and her husband, Ben; Kay Whitman Sadler, Ramon Sadler; Granddaughter, Tra­cye Sadler Blackwell and her husband, Mark; Grandson,William Hunter Sadler and his wife, Robin; great-grandson, Kevin Hunter Sadler; and great-granddaughters, Emily and Katie Blackwell. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Leak–Memory Chapel from 3 to 5 pm. Graveside services will be at 10 am, Monday, June 23, 2008 at Oakwood Annex. Honorary pallbearers will be David McCutcheon, Van Cates, Ke­vin Bell, Billy Wilkes, Chuck Singley, Carl Waters, and Dale Weeks.
