Lonnie C. Jordan, Jr. (1924-2007) - Class Of 1943

Lonnie C. Jordan Jr., age 82, passed away on Mon­day, January 22, 2007 at his home. Mr. Jordan was a life­long resident of Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Morris Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Pat­ricia Morris Jordan; two sons: Lonnie C. Jordan III (Lori) and Charles P. Jordan; one daugh­ter: Lisa Jordan Drenning (Ron); four grandchildren: Noralea Jordan, Charles Ethan Jordan, Sarah E. Jordan & Hannah C. Jordan; three brothers: James W. Jordan (Donna), Charles D. Jordan (Alice) and George E. Jordan (Florence); one sister: Martha Jane Brown.

A Memori­al Service will be held on Fri­day, January 26, 2007 at 2 p.m.at Southern Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Mims officiating. The family will re­ceive visitors at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to your favorite charity.

Mr. Jordan worked as an inde­pendent real estate appraiser for 34 years and was owner of Jordan Appraisal Company, Inc. Prior to that, he held other positions including sports writer at the Advertiser Journal, tennis professional (ranked in the top 20 nationally), and several state government positions. His military career started in WWII when he enlisted in the army and ended in 1978 when he retired at the rank of Lt. Co­lonel. Highlights of his military career included achieving the rank of master paratrooper and commander of a Special Forces unit in the Alabama Na­tional Guard.
