Vera Ann Hawkins (Mauser) (1925-2013) - Class Of 1943

Vera Ann Hawkins Mauser of Wetumpka, Alabama passed peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2013 after 88 blessed years. Her family and friends view her as one of the most beloved, giving, and unselfish people they have ever known. Even during her illness, she displayed that signature smile more often than not.

Mrs. Mauser was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Vincent Mauser, her parents Mattie and Steve Hawkins and her beloved sisters, Sue Robinson, Dickie Osbourn and Biddy Stovall.

Mrs. Mauser was born October 5, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama and worked as an accountant until retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory:

    • Melissa (Frank) Lumpkin
    • Valerie Hodges.
  • Mrs. Mauser was proud of:

    • Her 9 great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Elmore County.

Visitation was at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 7:00pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10am on Monday, January 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Elmore followed by burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to your favorite charity.
