Robert "Bob" Bruce Brackin (1925-2011) - Class Of 1943

BRACKIN, Robert Bruce (Bob), 85 passed away on June 29, 2011. Bob was born in Greenville, AL and lived in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Navarre, FL before returning to Montgomery in 2006. He retired as a shoe sales representative for Endicott- Johnson after 45 years in the shoe business. Bob loved golf and played until the age of 79. He loved everything Auburn.He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Lydia Wachs Brackin. He is survived by a devoted family: Children: Ann Brackin Davidson (George Raymond) of Montgomery; Lynne Brackin Terry of Phenix City; Joe Brackin (Roberta) of Alpharetta, GA. Grandchildren: George Davidson and Andrew Terry of Phenix City, Christopher Joel Davidson of Atlanta, Cathy Davidson Larson (Will) of Eugene, OR, Russell Terry (Jessica) of Montgomery and Matthew Terry of Auburn. Great Grandchildren: Dewey and Ashton Terry of Montgomery. A brother: Ben Brackin (Gerry) of Medford, OR. Sisters: Christine Neider of Converse, TX and Wynelle Moody (Jim) of Freeport, FL. Sisters and Brothers in Law: Ruth Andrews of Panama City, FL, Betty King of Savannah, GA. Sam Wachs (June) and Jack Wachs (Jan) of Montgomery. And many nieces and nephews A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church, Montgomery. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VistaCare Hospice Fund, Montgomery, The Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or the charity of your choice. A special thank you to the staff at Waterford Place and the sitters from John Knox At Home for their loving care.
