Martha Claire Kimbrough (Bright) (1923-2006) - Class Of 1941

BRIGHT, Martha Kimbrough, 83, a lifelong resident of Montgomery died on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel with the Reverend Carl C. Bright officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Bright, her parents Newman and Ella Ruth Kimbrough, of Montgomery and her brother, Newman W. Kimbrough, Jr. of Memphis, TN. She is survived by her children, Dianne S. (Tommy) Langford of Montgomery, Dr. James Thomas (Margie) Sanders of Luverne, and Donna S. Simmons of Coosada, AL. She is also survived by her sisters, Nell K. Easterling of Wetumpka, Marion K. Stough of Montgomery, and her sister-in-law, Betty S. Kimbrough of Memphis, TN. Mrs. Bright is survived by five grandchildren: Shannon (Shannon) Steward, Tina (David) Moore, John (Bubba) Flournoy, Bryne Sanders, Clay Sanders, and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shannon Steward, John Flournoy, Clay Sanders, David Moore, and Chris Bright. Honorary Pallbeaers will be retired employees of Hudson-Thompson, Inc. Mrs. Bright’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at John Knox Manor Nursing Home for the loving care and support provided to our Mother during her last illness. We will always remember your many kindnesses as we took this difficult journey together. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions to made to our Mom’s favorite charity, the March of Dimes, 2501 Bell Road Ste 3, Montgomery, AL 36117; or to your favorite charity.
