Dorothy Sanders (Garrett) (1919-2006) - Class Of 1939

GARRETT, Dorothy Sanders, 86, a resident of Montgomery, AL died unexpectedly after a short illness on January 17, 2006. She is preceded in death by parents, Hezekiah and Lottie Garrett; her husband, Herman H. Garrett; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her cousin, Lucile Cason of Phenix City, AL; a nephew, Michael O. Frazier of Havana, FL; a nephew, Larry Wilson of Crockett, CA; a niece, Kareen Stasko of Napa, CA, Betty Little of Napa, CA, Susan Vale of Pinole, CA and many beloved cousins, great nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Ms. Garrett was loved dearly as she was a Godly woman who loved her church, family friends and her Lord. A fiery redhead, she loved her life here, but always looking to her Heavenly home. She will be missed greatly by those who loved her. Visitation will be Friday, January 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home at 909 Lincoln Road. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21st at Highland Avenue Baptist Church, 1900 Highland Avenue with Reverend Norman Simmons officiating.
