Helen Elizabeth Burt (Ciniglio) (1920-2008) - Class Of 1938

CINIGLIO, Helen Elizabeth Burt, 87, a lifelong resident of Montgomery and affectiona­tely known as Mama, Granny, and Plum, graciously and peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on May 14, 2008 after an extended ill­ness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Consuelo Burt; brothers, David, Thomas, Raymond &Mack Burt; sister, Margaret Thomas and grandson, Scott Fitzgerald. She is survived by her children, Marie (Bradley) Fitzgerald, Lewis Ciniglio, Jr.and Kay Ciniglio, all of Mont­gomery; grandson, Joe (Chri­stina) Ciniglio of Birmingham; granddaughter, Pam (Neal) Kendrick of Hope Hull and 10 great-grandchildren, Veroni­ca, Morgan, Jordan, Lauren, Hannah & Christopher Cinig­lio, Chandler & Shelby Churchwell, Jordan & Hunter Kendrick; several nieces & nephews in AL, GA, NY, CA & OK; sister, Jean (George) Myr­ick of Montgomery and spe­cial friends, Faye Mims & Ester Covington. Helen graduated from SidneyLanier HS in 1938 and went to work for the Southern Bell Telephone Co. where she worked until retirement in 1980; she had 42 active years of service and also worked with the American Heart Asso­ciation for approx. 10 years.  She was a member of High­land Ave Baptist Church and loved to do arts and crafts, read books and work puzzles.  Ms. Ciniglio also enjoyed va­cationing to the mountains or beach. She loved her family and was a wonderful mother. We are proud to call her Mama and thankful for her love and de­votion to us all. She had many cherished friends and enjoyed life. She was a kind, gentle and loving mother, friend and sister and will be missed by all. Heaven is sure­ly rejoicing that another pre­cious saint has come home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Faulkner, David Myrick, Rick Myrick, Tommy Burt, Bill Myr­ick and Neal Kendrick. Hon­orary pallbearers will be MG Willie A. Alexander (ret.), George ''Buster'' Myrick, Bill Ammons and the Deacons of Highland Ave Baptist Church.  Funeral services are sched­uled for Saturday, May 17th at 3pm at Southern Memorial with Rev. Billy Duncan officiat­ing. Visitation will be from 1 pm - 3 pm prior to the service. Southern Memorial Directing
