Lillian Whitney Rossell (Rawlings) (1919-2006) - Class Of 1937

RAWLINGS, Lillian Rossell, 87, formerly of Montgomery, AL died on Monday, November 6, 2006 after a brief illness.  Mrs. Rawlings attended Sidney Lanier High School and Mary Baldwin College. She was a wonderful mother and cherished wife.  She was a member of the Junior League, Junior 20th Century and Sojourners, as well as a life long member of J. J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church in McComb, MS. and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Meredith Rawlings, Jr., Sisters Bettie Rossell McGowin and Eleanor Rossell Marshall and Brother Rankin Ray Rossell, Jr. Mrs. Rawlings is survived by her five sons, Jesse Meredith Rawlings, III and wife Sharon, Ray Davis Rawlings and life partner Chris , Phillip Ould Rawlings and wife Gloria, James Whitney Rawlings and wife Carol, and Rankin Revel Rawlings and wife Elizabeth; and by her daughter Susan Rawlings White and husband Randy.  She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at J. J. White Memorial Presbyterian Church in McComb, with Dr. Lane Stevenson and Dr. Richard Knox Swayze officiating.  Burial will follow for the immediate family at Hollywood Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church,  Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery County Historical Society, Community Hospice of McComb, 140 N 5th St. McComb, MS 39648, or ones favorite charity.
