Wendol Wade Crowder died quietly Wednesday afternoon, June 28, 2006, after a long illness. Mr. Crowder was born in Linwood, Alabama in 1914, but grew up in Montgomery. He was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and Auburn University. He was also a veteran of World War II. After the war he worked for the Veterans Administration. He retired in 1979 to his cattle farm in Linwood, which is near Troy.

Mr. Crowder is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Zoe Crowder, and his twin sons, Tom and Jerry Crowder. He had four grandchildren, Cory Crowder, Christin Crowder, Matthew Crowder, and Cameron Crowder. He is also survived by his brother, John M. Crowder of West Blockton, Alabama.

Mr. Crowder was 92 years old and predeceased this past February by his wife of 65 years, Rosamond Barnett Crowder. A memorial service was held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy, Alabama, on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at 2:00 PM.
