William Robert "Bob" Baggett (1918-2011) - Class Of 1936

William R. (Bob) Baggett, Jr., age 93, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, April 21, 2011, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Mr. Baggett served in the U. S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1973.

Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by:
His parents Mary Madeline Whiddon Baggett and William R. Baggett, Sr.;
His sister Willie Madeline Baggett.

Mr. Baggett is survived by:
His wife of 65 years, Dorothy Meeker Baggett;
His daughter Linda Baggett Gafford (John)
His daughter Bobbye Baggett (David);
His grandson Bryan Gafford;
and his loving pet Abbye.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to David Schmalenberger, who took such good care of "PapPaw".

Visitation was held one hour prior to services at Leak Memory Chapel. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, with Pastor Tommy Roy of Posey's Crossroad Baptist Church officiating.
