Flora MacGuire (Dukes) (1917-2013) - Class Of 1935

Flora Grant MacGuire Dukes born May 16, 1917 after an extended illness went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on this day, December 31, 2013. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Cameron MacGuire, long-time pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dow Dukes, brothers, Dr. Hugh MacGuire, Colin "Buster" MacGuire, and Reverend Donald MacGuire, and sister, Jessie Broyles, daughter, Kathleen Holland, and son, Dr. Allen Dukes. "Am" as she is known to her children and grandchildren who remain: Ann Cater and Thomas; Reverend John Dukes (Lee), Robin, Ben, and Katherine, and Andrew; Martin MacGuire Dukes (Cynthia), Sarah-Ashley, Austin, and Grant, and John-Samuel; Rebecca Byrne (Bradley), Patrick, Kathleen, and Laura, and Colin; Jessie and John; Hank and Robbie. They will be left with glorious memories of a high-spirited, stoic Scottish woman with a contagious laugh. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 12:30 in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation for the family and friends will be at Young Meadows Presbyterian Church starting at 1:30 pm following the service. The family wants to thank Gentiva Hospice for the love, care and support they have shown to our family.
