DURDEN, James T., 88, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Leak-Memory Chapel with Rev. Jim Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel. Mr. Durden was loved and admired by many for his great sense of humor and intellect. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Rosalie Eiring Durden. He is survived by sons, Hilmar Frederick (Suzette) Durden, John Douglas (Flora) Durden, Robert Walter Durden; granddaughters, Kathryn (Mac) Durden Brock, Rachel Rosalie Durden; and loving family member Linda Ann White. Mr.Durden graduated from Auburn University with honors. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II and retired as a Captain from the Naval Reserve. He also retired after 45 years of service with Algernon Blair. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations can be made to the Montgomery Humane Society.The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Montgomery for the care and compassion they have shown during Mr. Durden's illness.
