SMITH, Hazel Harper Williams, age 91, died at a local hospi­tal on July 5, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born July 13, 1915, in Brewton, AL and moved to Montgomery as a young child. She gradu­ated from Sidney Lanier High School with an Art Scholarship to Huntingdon College. She is survived by two daughters: Sheryl S. Keller (Courtney) of Coconut Grove, FL, & Suz­anne Smith of Montgomery, AL; two grandsons: Christian G. Keller of Coconut Grove, FL & Brian C. Keller (Michelle LaScala) of San Diego, CA; one nephew: Richard G. Wil­liams (Barbara) & their daughter Caroline Grace Wil­liams all of Wanatchee, WA.  Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, W. Walton Smith, her parents Moses A. and Hazel Harper Williams of Selma, AL; brother, Richard G. Williams, sister-in-law, Mary Sullivan“Bunny” Williams & niece, Deborah Williams England.  Mrs. Smith worked for the Ala­bama Public Library System, was an avid reader, was ac­tive in the Alabama Business Women’s Association and elected Woman of the Year.  She was devoted to her fami­ly and pets, lived a long and happy life and will be missed by those who knew her. Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 8, 2007, at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Michael Payne officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 7, 2007, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Leak-Memory Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Re­search Institute, 200 South Park Road, Ste 100, Holly­wood, FL 33021 or to your lo­cal humane shelter.
