Roberta graduated from Livingston State University and taught elementary school in Montgomery until her marriage to Major Robert (Bob) Reece, US Army Aircorps, from Long Beach, CA. Roberta enjoyed the life of an Air Force officer's wife being stationed in Albuquerque, NM, Boca Raton, FL, Wiesbaden, Germany. When we were ages 6 years and 18 months old respectively, our father died in a plane crash while stationed in Shreveport, Louisiana. Upon returning to Montgomery with us, our mother worked as a teacher at Stark Military Academy and later worked for the ABC Board with the State of Alabama. After retirement Roberta remained in Montgomery enjoying her hobbies: bridge, needlepoint, sewing, knitting, and listening to classical music. She spent her last four years in Columbus, Georgia in an assisted living facility until her death in 2001. Roberta always reminisced with such joy on her time spent living and travelling in Europe with our father.
