Edwina Lucile Davis (Walker) (1913-2015) - Class Of 1930

Edwina Lucile Davis Walker, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, Thaddeus Owens Walker; son, Edward Davis Walker; daughter-in-law Carol Upchurch Walker; her parents; and sisters Margaret McLean, Elizabeth McKee, Clyde Broadway, and Brownie Gilder.

The fourth of five daughters of Lucile Wilson and Edward Thomas Davis, Edwina was born April 5, 1913 in the Montgomery County hamlet of London near Pike Road. She was a member of the first class to graduate from Sidney Lanier on Court Street in 1930. She attended Huntingdon College. 

Edwina's survivors include sons Thad O. Walker, Jr. and wife, Sally, Edgewater, MD; Stevenson T. Walker, Sandy Point, VA; daughter-in-law Carole Meadows Walker, Milledgeville, GA; grandsons E.D. Walker II, T. Owens III, Thad M. Walker and Stevenson M. Walker, granddaughter Elizabeth Walker Prekker, and eleven great grandchildren.

Other survivors include nieces Jodee Schwartz and Jan Hatchett; nephews Walker McKee, Jr., Frank Broadway, Jr., and Davis Broadway; and cousin Suanne Reid Jackson.

Edwina had been Chairman of the Board, Walker Printing Company. She taught nursery school at First Baptist Church for over sixty years. She was a member of the Mothers Roundtable, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mimosa Garden Club, and Montgomery County Historical Society. During her sons' school years at Cloverdale and Lanier, she was room mother, chaperone, events organizer, and sports supporter.

A service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM with a visitation being held one hour prior to service time.
