CLARKE, Carolyn Lang of At­lanta died on July 18, 2009 at Atlanta Hospice. She is sur­vived by her sister, Susan Clarke of Atlanta; sister, Ellen Clarke and brother-in-law, John Byrd of Asheville, NC; and her nieces and nephews and their families, Joanna Clarke-Sayer Wade and Brian Wade, Abigail Clarke-Sayer, John and Vanessa Byrd, Er­win Byrd, Margaret Byrd, and great-nephews Joe and Ben Byrd. Survivors also include her maternal aunt and uncle, Pauline and Everett Davis and many McConnico and Clarke cousins, including John and Iris Davis; Martha and Rick Fey and their chil­dren; and Mary Helen and Bill Neighbors and their children.  She is predeceased by her parents, Carolyn M. and John Clinton Clarke of Montgom­ery, AL. Carolyn Clarke was born and reared in Mont­gomery, AL.  She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and earned a BA from Agnes Scott College, an MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA from Georgia State University.  She enjoyed a rich and diverse career in bank­ing, public health, and with Coca Cola USA, from which she retired in 2000.  She was a member of Central Presbyteri­an Church where she served as an elder and was actively involved in a number of their ministries.  She was an enthusi­astic volunteer with numerous community, neighborhood,and women’s organizations.A celebration of her life and memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Presby­terian Church in downtown Atlanta.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to Agnes Scott College, 141 E.
